Major Investigations Management ProgramDuration 5 working daysProgram:The Major Investigations Management Program (MIMP) will involve police participants in a workshop focussing on the theme of Terrorism – Regional Threat, United Response. The program will assist police investigation managers to develop a greater understanding of the managerial role within complex, protracted, or multi-jurisdictional investigations and familiarise them with the 'best practice' tools for the planning, co-ordination and management of major investigations.
Course Learning OutcomesIn the context of multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional investigations:
- Plan a major investigation in accordance with "best practice" investigation management.
- Coordinate, manage and evaluate a major investigation in accordance with ‘best practice’ investigation management principles and organisational ethics.
- Identify the legal, cultural and sovereignty issues associated with the management of a major international investigation.
- Identify the benefits of working cooperatively and in collaboration on major investigations.
Entry Requirements:The program is suitable for experienced police officers with responsibility for leading and managing serious trans-national crime investigations. Police officers being selected to attend should have a minimum of 10 years service remaining within their respective police force/service.
It is an essential requirement of the program that all participants be competent in speaking, reading and understanding the English language.
