The 3rd JCLEC Donor Coordination Meeting


To maximize donor contributions and prevent donor duplication in the field of transnational crime program delivery, JCLEC held its annual Donor Coordination Meeting on 20th March, 2014.  The aim of the meeting is to have JCLEC and Donors openly discuss law enforcement priorities, interests and programs in order to look at new opportunities between all participants that may result in a number of new joint training program and generate new enquiries by prospective donors.
Image The meeting was attended by representatives from current donor countries and international agencies as well as from new countries and agencies.  A total of 20 attendees consisting of AFP, members of JCLEC Board of Supervisors and Board of Management, representative from: ASEAN NAPOL, British Embassy Jakarta, DFAT AID (AusAID), Royal Danish Embassy, Embassy of Spain, Royal Netherland Embassy, Embassy of Canada, New Zealand Embassy, US Embassy and DS ATA, German Embassy, INP International Relation Division, FBI Legal Attache.
The meeting co-chaired by Brigadier General Soepartiwi and AFP Commander Chris Sheehan.  JCLEC Executive Director Program Detective Superintendent Brian Thomson led the general discussions.

During the meeting Denmark, Canada, United Kingdom and United State of America reconfirm their support in delivering capacity building programs for law enforcement officers in Indonesia and regional at JCLEC.  Canada, United Kingdom and United State of America have already set up the programs in JCLEC until next year.  While Denmark advised an official announcement on their continued funding will be announced soon.  Other countries and agencies such as Spain, German, Netherland and DFT AID, are still exploring possibilities to support counter terrorism and transnational crime at JCLEC.  Those countries and agencies have been a great partner for JCLEC.  Their contributions have made JCLEC standing strong and continuing to operate for 10 years and going.
The donor countries also passed on gratitude to JCLEC who has been a perfect organizer of transnational crime and anti-terrorism training programs with its worldwide facilities.  JCLEC helps many countries to reach their aim and goal, to combat the transnational crime and terrorism in region as well as in the world.

The meeting was started at 9 pm and closed at 2 am, followed by JCLEC facilities tour for new representatives to gain a full understanding of JCLEC.  JCLEC Management looks forward to welcoming current and future donors back to the centre next year.
