Thank You Don Dupasquier and Welcome Julie Faucher from Royal Canadian Mounted Police


On May 30, 2014, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) S/Sgt. Don Dupasquier left JCLEC after almost three years as the resident Canadian Training Program Manager, handing over the reins to his replacement S/Sgt. Julie Faucher.
Don developed a number of important training initiatives and was fundamental in maintaining Canadian involvement and funding to JCLEC activities.  His character and sense of humour will be greatly missed by all at JCLEC!

JCLEC Congratulates Alumni Member, Senior Superintendent Anjan Pramuka Putra on His Promotion to Brigadier General


On Thursday 19 June 2014, Executive Director Programs Brian Thomson, while working at the JCLEC Foundation Secretariat office, joined a morning tea celebration at the office of CID Investigator's Supervision Bureau.  The celebration was to mark the promotion of Indonesian National Police (INP) Officer and JCLEC alumni,  Senior Superintendent Anjan Pramuka Putra to the rank of Brigadier General.  With the promotion he also commenced as Head of the INP's CID Investigator's Supervision Bureau.

On the 3rd of July 2014 the Jakarta Center for Law Enforcement Cooperation (JCLEC) will celebrate its 10th anniversary.  Since starting in 2004, the Center, a bilateral partnership between the Indonesia and the Australia supported by other donor countries and organizations, has delivered 656 courses for 15.819 Police officers and other law enforcement officers from 70 countries including Indonesia, Asia, Europe and Middle East, as per 2 June 2014.  To commemorate its success throughout the years, JCLEC Management has scheduled a number of events for staff, stakeholders and vendors.

The Austrian Ambassador for Indonesia and The Evaluation Team for JCLEC Visited the Center


H.E. Dr. Andreas Karabaczek, the Austrian Ambassador for Indonesia made his first visit to the Jakarta Center for Law Enforcement Cooperation (JCLEC) on Tuesday, 3 June 2014.  Dr. Andreas met Detective Superintendent Brian Thomson, JCLEC Executive Director and Police Senior Superintendent Eko Rudi Yuswanto to gain a first hand understanding about JCLEC activities and programs.  Dr. Andreas hoped his visit can be the beginning of Austrian government to support JCLEC’s mission in combating the transnational crime and extending the capability of Indonesian law enforcement agencies.

The 2nd Asia Region Women Police Conference


Women police in the Indonesia National Police (INP) officially began on 1 September 1948.  The duties of women police in Indonesia include handling crimes related to women, children and teenagers, drugs and administration issues to other further duties that is almost equal to men police duties.  There are many women police who have or are serving in command operational positions as Chief of Sector Police, Chief of Resort Police and even as Chief of Regional Police with the rank of General.  Police women deployments have covered international arena to support world peace that is based on freedom, eternal peace and social welfare in International activities in UN Peace and also other international missions.
