Changing of the Guard at the Jakarta Centre For Law Enforcement Cooperation
JCLEC is pleased to announce a ‘Changing of the Guard’ as both Executive Director, Indonesian National Police (INP) Brigadier General Boy Salamuddin and Executive Director (Programs) Federal Agent Don Craill from the Australian Federal Police (AFP) move on.
Brigadier General Boy Salamuddin has been promoted to Inspector General in the International Relations Division at Interpol National Bureau, Jakarta whilst Federal Agent Don Craill returns with his family back to Australia where he will be working with the International Deployment Group in Canberra.
Under the joint leadership of BG Pol. Boy Salamuddin and F.A Craill JCLEC has gone from strength to strength with the 10,000 student about to commence training in September this year. They were also responsible for providing the strategic direction to create an immersive learning suite within JCLEC. Their vision has resulted in the European Union funded UNODC Transnational Crime and Criminal Justice Project creating the ‘KERIS’ learning suite which is utilized to create reality in training whilst students practice their knowledge in a safe environment. This immersive learning suite is the first of its kind in the Region and would not have been possible without the joint vision of these two Directors serving at JCLEC. |

Replacing both Directors is not an easy task, however it seems that both the INP and AFP have been able to find excellent candidates to fill the vacant places. Federal Agent Brian Thomson joins JCLEC from Australia and brings with him a Masters degree in Education & Leadership and a wealth of national and international policing experience. Having been previously posted at the AFP Police College and as Police Advisor to the Nauru Police Force he is quickly settling into JCLEC.
